Starting August 1, we will be under even more water restrictions than we already are.

I’m nervous.

We two don’t use a lot of water and we’ve never been careless, but I don’t know how to cut back anymore, without causing a health hazard.

We already have water–saving appliances and low-flow toilets.

The gardens, front and back are suffering and there’s not much we can do.  We did plant drought tolerant plants, but a few days of extreme heat did them in.

But, visiting Jean’s Richard, pointed out that while they were here, in June, golf courses in the area have not stopped irrigating the greens and are doing so in the middle of the day, when the water is simply evaporating in the heat.

Now, if golfers in this area want to play REAL golf, they should go to Scotland, where there is plenty of real grass and rain.

They’ll get plenty of drocht there. ‘Drocht’ is a good drying wind.
